Getting Started

Have you ever wanted to learn to fly? Training is available at ASC with excellent aircraft hire rates in New Zealand complimented by a choice of quality instructors.

If you’re not quite sure if flying is for you, then an introductory flight is available, to allow you to experience the feeling of flying but not have any obligation to sign up. However, in order to continue taking lessons through the club, you will be required to become a club member.

Once you have become a member, you can start training for your Private Pilots License in our PA-38 Tomahawk or Cessna C152 aircraft. You will certainly always remember your first solo, and the nerve wracking but exhilarating Flight Test when you gain your wings!!!

After you get your PPL, you can get a type rating onto one of our other aircraft and enjoy the priviledges your license entails. Cross-Country trips away for lunch with your friends & family, weekends away, competition flying and many more. You can also decide to undertake further flying training to get a Multi-Engine rating, Command Instrument Rating (so you can fly in weather conditions that standard PPL holders are not allowed to fly in. i.e. Visual Flight Rules), Commercial Pilots License, Instructor rating, Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL) and a career in the airlines or as a flying instructor.

If you would like to become a club member, contact A.S.C. on (09) 417 7838 or send us an email to ascwp@xtra.co.nz.
